Baltimore native DeRay Mckesson is an internationally recognized civil rights activist focused primarily on issues of innovation, equity, and justice. He is a leading voice in the Black Lives Matter movement and a co-founder of Campaign Zero. His work inspired WDC’s current push to convince all agencies with arrest powers in Montgomery County to adopt the common-sense police practices in Campaign Zero’s #8CantWait initiative. He hosts the podcast Pod Save the People, and just released his first book, On the Other Side of Freedom: The Case for Hope. Join WDC for DeRay Mckesson’s observations on a new liberation movement and his intimate reflections from the front lines of that movement. Thanks to our friends at Politics & Prose, for offering attendees a 10% discount on Mckesson's book here. Use the code SPECIAL10 at checkout.
